This seems to be the televisual happening of recent timesr. Sooner or later, you're bound to (have) come across this show. It's a very thought-provoking phenomenon, but you may not know exactly what it is, so first of all, some background - a reading exercise based on an article about the original 'Big Brother' show, taken from the Daily Telegraph. click here

Now have a look at the British 'Big Brother' website (click here- it will open in a new window) and answer the following questions (NB depending on when you view the site, there may or may not be a 'Big Brother' series in progress):

  1. How many participants were there at the beginning?
  2. How many are left?
  3. How many countries have 'Big Brother' shows (look in 'links')?
  4. What is the prize?
  5. How long is there to go until the end?
