http://www.guardian.co.uk/ Centre-left dialy broadsheet newspaper with an excellent website covering all sorts of topics. The British (TEFL) teachers newspaper.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/ Centre-left daily tabloid.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/ Centre-right daily broadsheet.

http://www.observer.co.uk/ Sister paper to the Guardian, this is a paper with a long history. Centre-left Sunday paper, it share website links with the Guardian.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/ Right-wing tabloid which claims to be more 'highbrow' than the Sun or the Mirror.

http://www.megastar.co.uk/ Website of the Star newspaper (not to be confused with the Morning Star), a centre right tabloid famous for its sensationalist approach

http://www.lineone.net/express/ Website of the Daily Express, which is the main competition for the Daily Mail. In spite of a intense rivalry between the two, there is very little difference between them: right-wing tabloid.

http://news.ft.com/ The Financial Times: serious news coverage, often accused of being boring, always with a financial slant. This is the businessperson's newspaper, and the print version is a distinctive pink/orange colour.

http://www.independent.co.uk/ One of the UK's newest newspapers, broadsheet, daily and middle of the road politically.

http://www.poptel.org.uk/morning-star/ The newspaper of what used to be nkown as the British Communist Party. Probably the only truly left-wing national newspaper.

http://www.the-sun.co.uk/ Britain's biggest selling newspaper: tabloid, daily and usually right wing.

http://www.the-times.co.uk/ Possibly Britian's best known newspaper: daily, broadsheet (although some would say it now has a very popolist approach to stories) and centre-right.

http://www.sundaymirror.co.uk/ Sister paper to the Daily Mirror, as you'd expect, similar in approach

http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/index.shtml Many people complain of the British media's lack of attention to international stories. The World Service is one section which cannot be said to be too inward looking.
